With the current health crisis affecting the world, here at Aardvark Music we knew our young people would be feeling pretty vulnerable and so we are thrilled that we have been able to temporarily bring all our programs online to keep our community connected. We have developed a new Aardvark Sessions program with the new participants. We’ve been using a combination of Zoom, Facebook and a music making platform called Bandlab to create a space for young people to connect, collaborate and continue to write songs together. They are beginning to get to know each other and write songs together over the internet! The sessions are being facilitated by our talented new facilitators Yeo and Asami and Aardvark Music’s first Youth Support Lead, Morgan.

As for our alumni community they have been taking part in fortnightly online sessions. The sessions alternate between online tutorials run by music industry professionals and opportunities to share their songs and write music together with our facilitators. Asami and Yeo are also creating incredible content for our Aardvarkians to learn from in between sessions.

As soon as it is safe to do so we will be running all our sessions in person again at our new venue in Melbourne but with an online version available to those who can’t attend in person due to distance.

Aardvark would like to thank our partners, volunteers and community for making all of this possible.

Please get in touch if you would like to know more about how to get involved now with the current online sessions.

Stay safe.

From the Aardvark Music Team
